What Are You Looking For?

Hello friends,

I have been in a huge state of transition. Since moving back to the US, I have moved 3 times and now I am finally settled, we are getting in our routine and I am ready to advance the kingdom of God personally, financially, emotionally, physically and mentally. For some people seeing, what can perceived as inconsistency in me, was actually transition, my faith is more solid today than ever before, I am still fully committed to my church, my family, my God, its just that life at times causes you to look different than you really are. So, here I am back to blogging and am actually learning a lot about how to blog, how to communicate and how to love people more effectively. With that being said, I am going to make this blog more of an open discussion, rather than a dissertation. For those that tolerated my written sermons, thank you for your kind words, but now it is time for us to build something together. What will it look like when it is finished, I am not sure, but I am so excited to have us do this together. I hope you are up for an adventure of learning, growing, seeing the kingdom of God come on earth, as it is in heaven.

This morning I was reading in Proverbs 8:35 and it says, “For whoever finds me (wisdom) finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord”. If this is truth, why do we as people pursue so many other things passionately and so few actually pursue wisdom? I meet people daily, as I am sure you do as well, who are in pursuit of money, titles, women, men, careers, fame, notoriety, respect, power, prestige, satisfaction, and the list goes on and on. Yet, very rarely, and unfortunately in church as well, I see people in pursuit of wisdom. I mean really in pursuit. So, I started to ask myself, why is this? If wisdom is what brings favor, life and it goes on to say riches, understanding, insight, and rulership, why are we not pursuing it? I cannot speak for anyone else, but for me, sometimes I am not sure how to pursue wisdom, is it by reading, listening to sermons, praying, how do we pursue wisdom? Everybody is looking for something and wisdom promises to meet those needs, wants, desires, dreams, so why do we pursue everything but wisdom and how do we pursue it? This is what I would love for us to dialogue about today. Please share your thoughts, freely, openly, and abundantly, I need what you have to share.
