Listening to the radio, listening to sermons, going to churches, looking at titles in the Christian Bookstore, and listening to the way Christians talk, I realized there is an immaturity in our walk with the Lord. The Bible says, out of the abundance of our heart, the mouth speaks and what people are saying is weak, shallow and without substance. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for something more. I want the reality of the deep calling unto the deep. I know deep down inside of myself there must be more than this and I have a sneaking suspicion there are people out there in this big world, who are saying the same thing.
So, here is what I believe the Lord is asking me to do. I am going to start spiritual personal training classes. When I mentioned this to someone they said, oh you want to do mentoring, no, I want to gather a group of people who want to mature in their walk with God, so I want to be a personal trainer for them. Personal trainers push us beyond what we ourselves believed we could do. We know they know we can do more, so even though it hurts to go see them 3 times a week for an hour, we know we are getting stronger. I am looking for people who want to be pushed beyond what they can do on their own. Who want to experience the reality of deep calling unto deep. I want to gather a group of people who are going to push the boundaries of their walk with God, who are going to invest their time, their heart and their energy into pursuing the presence of God. I am looking for people who want to learn, grow, stretch, and hurt for sake of increasing their faith.
As I was thinking about this today while driving, I heard the Lord say, many begin a walk with me, but very few learn how to win in their walk with me. When I was taught to begin, I was taught how to win. I want to teach you how to win. I have created a 12 week or 36 session course that we are going to follow. If you are interested in being a part of this group, or know someone who would be interested, let me know and we will get started the first week in January. I am going to do this whether it is with one or one hundred people. It is long past due for us as Christians to grow up.
Our format will include reading plans, writing assignments, strategic prayer, webinars, and a variety of other avenues that will be used for training. The Biggest Loser is a very popular show and the personal trainers are paid to help these people succeed physically, I am going to help you succeed spiritually, but you have to pay the price with your time.
