Apostles, Eunuchs, Evangelist, pastor, Prophet, Teacher, Wanted

Apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher, are all positions that people are applying for or self-proclaiming as though this is what God is in need of. The amount of people jockeying to be in the 5-fold ministry in the church is a highly crowded field. Many that are in these roles are not even called to them, but because they sound prestigious, people want them. With so many people in these roles, I have asked the Lord why the church is not more effective; why the kingdom has not advanced to the degree that we have people in these positions. The answer I got was surprising, but not surprising.

One of the challenges of Christians is that they said a prayer but they did not change kingdoms. Because of this, many people have brought the world’s system into the church and have tried to impose it on the kingdom of God, but God Himself will not allow another system to overrule His system in the kingdom. So, we have used the name kingdom of God to describe church and they are not the same thing. When you come into the kingdom of God, there is a whole new system in which you must submit to or you will not stay in the kingdom. First of all the kingdom has a king and His name is Jesus the Son, God the Father and the Holy Spirit. He does not run a democracy; His laws do not change with culture; and He does not lower the standard so you can meet it.

With this being said, in the kingdom of God there is no jockeying for positions, titles or any power struggles. People who have truly come into the kingdom, they are all servants. They serve the king and the others in the kingdom with their gifts, callings and experiences. People recognize authority in the kingdom and submit to it, it is not forced upon you by a title. Therefore, because this is life in the kingdom, and most people are used to the church which is riddled with the world’s system, they struggle to live in the kingdom. While the church is over inundated with people vying for a 5-fold ministry position, the kingdom is looking for spiritual eunuchs.

A spiritual eunuch is someone who has chosen to live a life of celibacy, a spiritual virgin if you will. Someone who is not interested in having any other gods, engaging in any other activity that would compromise the purity of their relationship with the king. Eunuchs are servants, who because of their function with the king and his bride have chosen a life of chastity in word and deed. Eunuchs are reliable servants of a royal court who have physical access to the king and they yield great influence. They are highly trusted servants, humble servants that have the king’s ear. Eunuchs are seen as more trustworthy and less interested in establishing a private dynasty. (Wikipedia.com) Eunuchs are the one’s the king trusts to help beautify his bride.

2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward Him, so that He can show His great power in helping them”.

God is hiring spiritual eunuchs, people who have set their life apart for His use only, they are not tempted by the world’s system, they are in love with the king and His kingdom. People who He can trust to help beautify His bride for the day that they meet face to face. “Let us be glad and rejoice and honor Him; for the time has come for the wedding banquet of the Lamb, and His bride has prepared herself” (Revelation 19:7). Those who have been hidden and have wondered what is this is all about, is it possible God has set you and I apart to be spiritual eunuchs that He is going to use to prepare the bride of Christ to meet her bridegroom? Personally, I love the idea that I have been set apart to be a spiritual eunuch, it is an honor to not only help beautify the bride, but to be apart of the bride as well and to be one that has the kings ear. So, the call goes out, spiritual eunuchs wanted!

For the eunuchs job description, read the book of Esther.

A Lesson from Lot (The Last Warning)

Lot, Mountain of the Lord, Noah, Prophecy, Warning

Luke 17:28 “It was the same as happened in the days of Lot…”

Can you feel it in the atmosphere? Can you sense that things are coming to a culmination? Can you hear the voice of God? Can you see it in the skies above? Can you observe it on the news?

I have a sneaking suspicion that Noah knew something was climaxing, that time was drawing closer with every nail he put in the ark. I tend to believe that Lot was aware of the increase of wickedness in his cities was about to be dealt with. Known and unknown prophets, pastors and people are sensing it in the atmosphere. Believers and unbelievers alike are noticing things that are making them wonder what is going on. We are living in a day that is not typical of our personal history, it is not normal for our generation. We have turned a corner, something has shifted and it is as though heaven is saying, Enough is Enough.

Jesus said, it was the same as happened in the days of Lot. Many know Lot separated from his uncle Abraham because they had some disputes among their two clans. Abraham went to the hills and Lot went to the cities. Most messages we have heard in church over the years has been about Abraham, for he is the father of our faith, so rightly so. But, there is something about Lot, which we need to learn if we are to not be found in a place that God intends to destroy.

Here is what we learn from Genesis 19:

  1. Lot was told 3 things by the angels of God (v.15)
    1. Hurry
    2. Arise,Take your wife and daughters
    3. Lest you be consumed and swept away in the iniquity and punishment of this city
  2. Lot’s son-in-laws thought he was joking when he spoke about destruction that was coming. (v.14)
  3. Lot lingered, but the angels seized him, for the Lord is merciful (v.16)
  4. Lot was given 4 commands by the angels of God (v.17)
    1. Escape for your life
    2. Don’t look behind you
    3. Don’t stop anywhere in the whole valley (Joel 3:14)
    4. Escape to the mountain (Isaiah 2:2-5)
  5. Lot said to the angels commands
    1. Oh not that my lords! (v.18)
    2. I cannot escape to the mountains (v.19)
    3. Let me go to Zoar (v.20-22)

It was the same as happened in the days of Lot, the warning has gone out from the Lord; many think it is a joke; leaders are lingering, but God has been merciful; new commands were given, but yet again compromises were chosen. What most people are unaware of is what Zoar means. Zoar, is the city that Lot asked to go to, because He could not handle going to the mountain of the Lord. Zoar means insignificant; to be made small; without influence. Many people are choosing Zoar because it is not as far away from the cities as the mountains are, but what they don’t realize is they are choosing to be insignificant, small and without influence.

This is the last warning, before the battle begins. There is still a very short amount of time to get to the mountain of the Lord, but you must hurry, you must arise and take others with you, you must not look behind you, you cannot stop anywhere in the valley. The signs are in the heavens, the sound is on the earth, the truth is, God has said enough is enough, a line has been drawn in the sand and you still have time to choose. The same two choices are set before you, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants” (Deuteronomy 30:19). The good news is you have a choice, learn the lesson from Lot, for this may be the last warning before the war and we need you on the mountain.

Made for Glory

glory, Image, shame, worship

Psalm 8:3-5 “When I consider the heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have made, what is man, that you are mindful of him? And the son of man that you care for him? For you have made him a little lower than angels and have covered him with glory and honor.”

During worship last night, I was invited to come into the place where the glory of the Lord dwells. It is a place where the only thing that matters is God Himself and as I came into that place, I heard the Lord say to me, “You were made for glory!” As I listened to the Lord speak these words over me, I knew it was not just about me, it was about humanity, people. God made us as people for glory. But almost instantly during this time in worship, I also heard Romans 1:23 “And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like man, and to birds and four footed beasts, and creeping things.”

It was as though everything stopped in my head other than these two phrases, we were made for glory, but we have exchanged that glory for an image.

It is no secret that Christianity does not carry the influence it has in the past; it is known to most that we have fallen short of who we were created to be; so the problem is not the issue we need to discuss, rather what we need to know is what is the solution. I believe part of the answer is that we need to recognize that we were made for glory. For too many years in church we have been taught that God does not share His glory with anyone, but He says in Psalm 8 and Genesis 1 that we were made for glory. So, we can no longer use this as an excuse as to why we are not living in glory.

The truth is, we are not clear what glory is. Glory means high renown or honor; magnificence, great beauty; take great pride or pleasure in. This sounds like we give our kids glory and so why can’t God give us His children glory. We are reminded constantly that God loves us, He is for us, nothing can separate us from Him, so why are we so afraid to live in glory? God Himself is so big that if you live in the glory He made you for, you will not detract from His glory, but actually add to it.

We were made for glory, it is time we stop exchanging our glory for shame. The only way to live out who you were made to be is to take off your animal skins that you have made to hide yourself; stop making excuses as to why you can’t; and start believing that God is not a man that He should lie, but rather He is truth, He does not say things He does not mean. We were made for glory and the world needs to see us living out our glory. The only way to know what that looks like for you, is to spend time alone with Him. He made you for glory, so you can come near Him in glory. You are made of the same material as He is.

The way for us as Christians to begin influencing societal transformation is to live like we were made, made for glory!

What Have You Forfeited?

Matthew 16:26 “And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”

Everyone is in pursuit of something. Some are pursuing a career; some are pursuing a mate; some are pursuing a degree; some are pursuing a title or position; some are pursuing a goal. What people are pursing is vast and wide, but everyone is in pursuit of something. By nature of pursuit, it means that we have to make what has been called, sacrifices and whether our pursuit is selfish in nature or benevolent, we like to believe the end goal is worth the sacrifice. But, have you really thought about what you are pursuing vs. what you are “sacrificing”?

Sacrifice sounds so spiritual, so noble, so honorable and for those that make genuine sacrifices for values we all hold dear like freedom, democracy and safety, I salute their sacrifices. However, many people who believe they are making sacrifices, are actually forfeiting something or someone in order to gain something else. Deception is very hard to detect, because it is deceiving. Parents forfeit time with their children to “give them the life they never had”; spouses forfeit time with each other to pursue personal passions, dreams, or goals; Pastors forfeit time ministering to the Lord so they can minister to people; politicians forfeit their integrity, their authenticity, so they can win a position; athletes forfeit their bodies, so they can have a trophy, a medal or a personal satisfaction.

One of the greatest losses in our society is that we have forfeited the wisdom of the aged for the zeal of the young. We have looked to the youth to lead us and have forfeited the wisdom that comes with age and experience. In doing so, we have a society that forfeits children for phones; marriages for money; time spent with the Lord for television, social media, or the newspaper. If we could hear the voices of the ones who have gone before us, they would say, it’s not worth the price.

We spend hundreds of dollars on smart phones and cable bills and yet our communication with one another is worst not better, our children are angrier than before, and our family time has been replaced with television time. Do you realize how much we have forfeited and how little we have gained?

One of the gifts the kingdom of God is bringing to the earth is an awakening of our love for God and our love for one another. When we realize the value of humanity, we will stop forfeiting them for technology. I know we need to work, but the bible says, the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow (toil, striving, forfeiting) to it. When we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (His order for living), all these things (toys, technology, whatever) will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).

If somethings been stolen from you, then God can restore it back to you; if you have forfeited something, you can take it back, but it is going to take courage. Take a moment and think about what you have forfeited in pursuit of _____________________. When you are 70, 80, 90, 100 years old, I have been told you will look back and realize whatever you gained was not worth the price of what you forfeited. Wisdom is looking ahead and seeing what is coming, while preparing for that day right now. It’s not too late to course correct, His grace is sufficient and His love never fails.

The Divine Turnaround

Believe, Cindy Jacobs, Plumbline, Prophecy, Repent, Wicked

In January 2015, Prophetess Cindy Jacobs gave her prophetic word to the nations for the year 2015 and she said it is a year of Divine Turnaround. When the word came out many were thinking it was the year of financial turnaround, relationship turnaround, healing turnaround or any other thing in their life that they needed turned around. I too was thinking what I needed turned around in my life and have been believing for that all year long.

Last night while at a city wide prayer meeting here in Kansas City, a less well known prophetess got up and reminded us that this is the year of divine turnaround. While praying over this word again this morning, the Lord began to speak to me about the turnaround He is looking for from His people. He said, “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land” (2 Chronincles 7:14). The Lord said, “This is the year of turnaround, but the responsibility lies with My people turning from their wicked ways”. So, I inquired of the Lord further on what wicked ways He was referring to and this is what I heard.

We are being summonsed to turn, to turn from darkness to light; from selfishness to servanthood; from debt to prosperity; from hate to love; from lies to the truth; from the kingdom of Satan to the kingdom of God; from death to life; from sin to righteousness; from sickness to healing; from rebellion to authority; from idols to the living God.

Many people have prayed a prayer, but they have not changed kings. In I Kings 18, Elijah was on Mt. Carmel having a showdown with the prophets of Baal, because they people did not want to decide who they were going to follow. In Joel 3:13-15 it says, “Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full; The vats overflow, for their wickedness is great. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon grow dark And the stars lose their brightness.…”

It is past time to make your decision about who you are going to follow. The battles lines are drawn, the war is about to begin, and God is about to release a verdict on some long overdue issues, the prayers of the saints are full, they are about to tip over onto the earth, the answers are coming and where you stand will determine what you receive. Indecision is wickedness to God, that is why He is calling us to turn from our wicked ways. His mercy triumphs over judgment, which is why there have been so many prophetic warnings being sounded from the influential and the unknown. Time is running out in the valley of decision, on Mt. Carmel, it is time to decide which kingdom you are going to join, which king you are going to follow.

Zechariah 4:10 “…the plumbline is in the hand of Zerubbabel…”

2 Chronicles 20:20 “Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper.” This is the year of the Divine Turnaround, thanks Cindy Jacobs, may we heed the word of the Lord from your mouth.
