Change is work that’s why most people don’t change. We want things to be different, but we don’t want to put in the work to change. If there is no effort there will not be a different result. We must carve out a new path if we want a different result. Change doesn’t happen, because we complain about it. Change doesn’t happen for us by wanting others to change. We remain the same even though we’re miserable. Change is a personal responsibility. People can see your unwillingness to change, but you can’t see it. This is why nothing changes for you. Change is your responsibility not someone else’s.
Paul said in Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Most people know what changes they need to make, but most people are unwilling to make those changes because they don’t want to do the work that the change is going to require. Therefore they expect everyone around them to change so they don’t have to. As believers we have a responsibility to change. If you choose not to change, that is your choice, but then I encourage you to choose not to complain about that what you choose not to change.
If you want to live an abundant life; if you want to go on adventures with God; if you want to experience the fullness of joy; you are going to have to be willing to change. It’s going to be work, but it will be worth it. Make a change, make a move, and watch God open up the rivers of living water inside of you. You don’t have to stay the same, you don’t have to live in the same place your whole life, you can change but you must be willing to put in the work.
