Lot, Mountain of the Lord, Noah, Prophecy, Warning

Luke 17:28 “It was the same as happened in the days of Lot…”

Can you feel it in the atmosphere? Can you sense that things are coming to a culmination? Can you hear the voice of God? Can you see it in the skies above? Can you observe it on the news?

I have a sneaking suspicion that Noah knew something was climaxing, that time was drawing closer with every nail he put in the ark. I tend to believe that Lot was aware of the increase of wickedness in his cities was about to be dealt with. Known and unknown prophets, pastors and people are sensing it in the atmosphere. Believers and unbelievers alike are noticing things that are making them wonder what is going on. We are living in a day that is not typical of our personal history, it is not normal for our generation. We have turned a corner, something has shifted and it is as though heaven is saying, Enough is Enough.

Jesus said, it was the same as happened in the days of Lot. Many know Lot separated from his uncle Abraham because they had some disputes among their two clans. Abraham went to the hills and Lot went to the cities. Most messages we have heard in church over the years has been about Abraham, for he is the father of our faith, so rightly so. But, there is something about Lot, which we need to learn if we are to not be found in a place that God intends to destroy.

Here is what we learn from Genesis 19:

  1. Lot was told 3 things by the angels of God (v.15)
    1. Hurry
    2. Arise,Take your wife and daughters
    3. Lest you be consumed and swept away in the iniquity and punishment of this city
  2. Lot’s son-in-laws thought he was joking when he spoke about destruction that was coming. (v.14)
  3. Lot lingered, but the angels seized him, for the Lord is merciful (v.16)
  4. Lot was given 4 commands by the angels of God (v.17)
    1. Escape for your life
    2. Don’t look behind you
    3. Don’t stop anywhere in the whole valley (Joel 3:14)
    4. Escape to the mountain (Isaiah 2:2-5)
  5. Lot said to the angels commands
    1. Oh not that my lords! (v.18)
    2. I cannot escape to the mountains (v.19)
    3. Let me go to Zoar (v.20-22)

It was the same as happened in the days of Lot, the warning has gone out from the Lord; many think it is a joke; leaders are lingering, but God has been merciful; new commands were given, but yet again compromises were chosen. What most people are unaware of is what Zoar means. Zoar, is the city that Lot asked to go to, because He could not handle going to the mountain of the Lord. Zoar means insignificant; to be made small; without influence. Many people are choosing Zoar because it is not as far away from the cities as the mountains are, but what they don’t realize is they are choosing to be insignificant, small and without influence.

This is the last warning, before the battle begins. There is still a very short amount of time to get to the mountain of the Lord, but you must hurry, you must arise and take others with you, you must not look behind you, you cannot stop anywhere in the valley. The signs are in the heavens, the sound is on the earth, the truth is, God has said enough is enough, a line has been drawn in the sand and you still have time to choose. The same two choices are set before you, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants” (Deuteronomy 30:19). The good news is you have a choice, learn the lesson from Lot, for this may be the last warning before the war and we need you on the mountain.

As In the Days of Noah…

Blessings, flood, Noah, rain, rainbow, tithe

Matthew 24:38-39 “For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

For my whole Christian life I have come to believe that God is going to bring destruction before the coming of the Son of Man on the earth, maybe you have been taught the same thing. As I studied the days of Noah as noted in Genesis 6-8, the Lord began to reveal a mystery to me, that I have never been taught nor saw before. Looking at the days of Noah, the corruption of man, the evil (selfish) intents of his heart, and God’s grief over ever creating man are the obvious days of Noah things. The building of the ark, the entering two by two most have known since childhood. The 40 days and nights of rain, the rainbow as a covenant promise that God would never do that again, is all so familiar to us. If it is not, please read the story.

What began my quest into the mystery of Noah was his name, which means rest. I then began to realize he was a transitional figure, he saw the end of one world and the beginning of another. These revelations peaked my interest even more in the story, for it sounds a lot like where we are today. So, what happened in the days of Noah? Looking through the rainbow, which is our covenant promise of never being destroyed again by a flood, I had a desire to see a deeper meaning. Here is what I learned.

Genesis 7:11 says, “In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.” That phrase floodgates of the sky is translated windows of heaven. Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing for you until it overflows.” We are in the year 5775AD, this in the Hebrew calendar, is the year of the open window and the verse for this year is Malachi 3:10.

As I put all these puzzle pieces together, the Lord showed me that He is about to open the windows of heaven and flood the earth with blessings until they overflow. A friend of mine sent me a text about a month ago and said, I hear the abundance of rain! We are about to experience the rain of blessing as in the days of Noah!
