Salt the River Within

While at lunch with one of my mentors, I was pouring out my heart in regards to some pressure that I am under and she looked right at me, without hesitation, but with determination saying, “You need to salt the river within.” I looked at her and said, what do you mean? She said, you have been salting the rivers in our land and now you need to salt the river that is your land. I was stunned by her statement, but knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking through her, so heeded her thoughts overnight, before pulling out a glass of warm water the next morning and putting salt in it. I then drank the salt water and declared 2 Kings 2:19-22 which says, “The men of the city said to Elisha, behold now, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad and the land is unfruitful. Elisha said, bring me a new jar, and put salt in it. So they brought it to him. He went to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said, Thus says the Lord, I have purified these waters, there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer. So the waters have been purified to this day, according to the word of Elisha, which he spoke.” Immediately after I did this prophetic act, the Lord revealed to me that our mouths need to be purified, for there is death in them.

The city that the men in these verses were referencing is Jericho. Jericho was a city that Joshua decreed should not be rebuilt by saying, “At that time (after the walls of Jericho fell) Joshua pronounced this solemn oath: Cursed before the LORD is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho: At the cost of his firstborn son he will lay its foundations and at the cost of his youngest he will set up its gates” (Joshua 6:26). Now in 2 Kings, Elisha’s men are saying, the city is pleasant but the water is bad, why? Because the man who rebuilt this city, paid for it with the death of two of his sons (1 Kings 16:34), based on what Joshua decreed. Therefore, the water was bad, because there was death in the water that ran through the city. Elisha comes and says, we are going to break this curse over this city, over this land, by salting the spring. The spring was the mouth of the river that ran through the city. Can you see the connection and why God is calling us to salt our springs (mouths)?

Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit”. The Lord is inviting us to salt the river within, because there is death in the water and He wants to purify the waters within our lives, so we are only producing life and fruit that nourishes us and others. The old saying, you are what you eat is true, for we eat the fruit of our lips and if we are complaining, grumbling, fearing, doubting, or any other death producing fruit, we are releasing water that has death in it. The Rabbi’s believe, the 4 rivers in the garden of Eden are the 4 chambers of our hearts, there is a mystery here, but think of that, if out of the abundance of the heart our mouth speaks and the 4 chambers in our hearts are 4 rivers, that means if death comes out of our mouth, there is death in the rivers of our heart. It is time to salt the river within.

Now, death has many levels, it can be cursing someone or it can be complaining; it can be fear or it can be murder; so know that just because you are not doing something extreme, if there is any death coming out of your mouth, it is making your land unfruitful and the water inside of you is bad. This is not something to be ashamed of, but when we hear truth, we need to confess it as truth to God, ask for forgiveness and then turn away from it. I did not see, what I was saying as death, but when she said, you need to salt the river within, I knew she was right, so I went to the LORD and dealt with the death in my river and salted my spring (mouth). If we are honest, we all need to salt the river within. It’s not about being perfect, but it is about being honest. The LORD is wanting to make us oracles to the nations, but for that to happen, we must salt the river within.

church, prayer, Prophecy, prophetic words, Prophets, Religion

Have you ever been in church and knew you had a word from God for that moment, but there was no room given to speak forth that word in this current system we call church? Have you ever wanted to grab the microphone and share something the Lord was showing you, knowing it would be a blessing to the church? Have you ever followed the proper protocol to submit the word to the leadership, but that word was not allowed to be released from the microphone for whatever reason? For prophetic people this happens quite often. For people that can hear the voice of God, they hear Him a lot in worship, and rightfully so, for Paul said, “What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up” (1 Corinthians 14:26, NIV). So, there is biblical precedence for your word being spoken, unfortunately, more often than not, there is no room for it, so what do you do? Many prophetic people have gotten offended because they have not been given the microphone to speak their prophetic word and because of that offense, “A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a castle” (Proverbs 18:19, NKJV). Many prophetic people have left the church, so the church is without a prophetic voice. But in this hour, God is restoring the prophetic voice to the church!
One of the things God has been doing with His apostles, prophets and teachers in this past season is training them in righteousness. This training has been taking place on the back side of the desert, in the secret place, in the caves and crevices where no one can see you or hear you, publicly. The Lord has been healing both religious and relationship wounds in His emerging leaders. The Lord has been developing their character and in a word making them mature. The reason for this long season of maturing His rising leaders is because according to Ephesians 4:11-13 “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ” (NASB). As a leader you will make people who are like you, so if you are not mature, the people who look to you as a leader will not become mature, because they become who you are not what you say. Therefore, God is calling us to maturity, that is why His emerging leaders needed to mature, so they can lead the Body of Christ into maturity.
Now back to the prophets, God is releasing mature prophets back into the church, but most people, if not all people have no idea the function you are fulfilling, but you do. So, as the Lord speaks to you, giving you a word to speak in that moment, if there is no room for you to share that word from the microphone, we need to remember that as prophets our words carry authority and that authority is increased or diminished by the microphone, it is only amplified. Therefore, speak the word God gave you, even if you are not given a microphone, speak it into the atmosphere in prayer, your words are powerful, they are seeding the atmosphere. When you seed the atmosphere with what God is saying, someone else will say what you seeded into the atmosphere because your words are full of authority. It takes maturity to not need to get the credit for a word God gave you. Maturity is knowing that the word is from God not from you, so if you have to seed the atmosphere in prayer, because there is no room on the microphone, it does not change the truth that God’s word is going to be spoken and He is going to get the glory. This is how prophetic people can stay in the church without getting offended, they must remember the word did not originate with them, so it does not matter who amplifies it. Seed the atmosphere with your prophetic words, speak them out, even if people can’t hear them, the atmosphere does and God will get the glory. You carry authority, your words have power, speak prophet speak, even if your words are not amplified, you are still seeding the atmosphere.

Matthew 21:13/Mark 11:17/Luke 19:46
“And Jesus said to them, It is written, My house shall be called
a house of prayer; but you are making it a robbers den.”

In the Old Testament we read of two houses that were built for the Lord, both temples for God. Places of worship, prayer, offerings and fellowship. Both were destroyed and the desire to build a third temple is on the radar of some even at this time in history. But what if the house of God in the New Testament was not a building, but a person? What if the house of prayer Jesus referred to in the gospels was not about some physical location, but rather some person or persons? What if you were created to be a house of prayer, what if I was created to be a house of prayer?

Colossians 1:27 says, “God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

What if you were the house of God 3.0? The bible says, you are the temple of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 6:19). But what if you were the house of God that Jesus called a house of prayer? What if you were truly a living a sacrifice holy and acceptable to God as spoken about in Romans 12:1? What if what we have been taught about the house of God being somewhere we go is actually someone we are?

One of the new things that God is doing is opening up the windows of revelation and pouring out fresh understanding about His word. Mysteries that many of old longed to peer into we are being invited to seek and find. As the new leaders who are not just anointed but carry authority, begin to appear, many new ways of seeing the scripture will come forth. The truth they are going to bring has always been there, but it was veiled to us in past seasons, but is being revealed to us in this season.

Some will reject the fresh revelations that God is presenting, because religion, even charismatic, tongue talking religion does not like to look like they don’t know something. But with great humility, which is godly confidence, and precise wording, which is rightly dividing the word of truth, they will display anointing plus authority with messages and miracles that the world and the church are hungry for. One of those revelations is that you are the house of God, you are a house of prayer, which means you need to ask yourself, have you made God’s house, which is you, a den of robbers? You are the house of God 3.0.

Prophetic News From Malaysia                                      August 14, 2014

After being back in Malaysia again for three weeks there are three things which I have noticed that the Lord spoke to me about.

1. The Haze – there is a terrible haze across the entire nation, but more so in the Klang Valley in Kuala Lumpur where the seat of government is.  It comes and goes in intensity.  There are days when the visibility is not too bad and then there are strings of days when you can only see a very short distance due to the intense haze.  It is often accompanied by a burning smell as well.

The haze is representative of the impaired sight and vision of the nation.  It hides the sun, the moon and the stars and it is very hard to navigate in, let alone to set a course forward for the future.  It clouds the sight of the people and they can not see clearly or rightly understand what is going on around them.  Nothing is made clear and everything is veiled by a cloud deception and deceit. And so where is the light in the midst of all this?  It seems to be hidden under a bushel basket or locked behind closed doors for fear of the authorities.

Pray for the light to shine. Pray for wisdom and boldness.  Pray for selflessness.

2. A Drought –  There is a great drought in the Klang Valley.  The levels in the reservoirs are at critical low levels as there has been negligible rain for an extended period of time.  It is hot, dry and dusty. There is a drought of truth, justice and righteousness across the entire land.  Corruption and bribery have become the standards.  There seems to be no way other than the way of darkness and deception that is offered.

The heavens have been shut up and there is little to no rain to water the land. In the same way there is a great drought of the full counsel of God’s word.  Even as the rain is being withheld so the word of God has been withheld from so many in the church and those outside the church.  There are a masses of people who are thirsty for living water that will give them a hope and a future. It is the truth that will set people free.  It is the love of God seen through His followers that will draw others to Jesus. It is the forgiveness of others even as we have been forgiven that will show the way to Jesus saving grace. Freely we have been given, may we too freely give, by the grace of God.

Pray for reconciliation among the people groups, the denominations, and one another.  Pray for a love to permeate the people of God to truly love others as they themselves would want to be loved.

3. Water Rationing – There was water rationing earlier in the year due to the drought. The powers to be at this time however say there is no need for rationing as of yet.  They are going to seed the clouds and hope for rain.

There seems to be a rationing of not only the word of God as man decides what will be told,to who and who will do it, but there is also a rationing of the power and presence of God.  God has put this into man’s hands that he might manifest Himself  through his people, however man has decided he will ration it out as he sees fit.  If he does not believe in tongues or healing or God manifesting his presence through the gifts of the Holy Spirit then man does not allow it.  Or man decides to what degree God can manifest his presence and when and to who.  In such a way God is rationed out  according to man’s desires or understanding.  The problem is that the people are dying because they cannot  live on  the limited amount that is being metered out.

Pray for man to let God be God.  Pray for an increase of faith.  Pray that man would be secure in God.

Pray that – His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

church, forgotten, glory days, prayer, significant, Wedding, Wine, youth

John 2                                                                                    March 6, 2014
In the world in which we live today, there is a glorification of youth and what may seem like a disregarding of those who are no longer youth by the world’s standards. Youth are seen as stronger, faster, smarter, and we ourselves remember our youth and it can feel like those were the glory days. Our memories of what was, who we used to be, and what we used to do can feel like our best days are behind us. But Jesus…

In the story of the Wedding at Cana, Jesus tells a story about a wedding he went to and while at the wedding they ran out of wine. Picking up the story in verse 6 it says, “now there were six water pots of stone standing there”. This is significant, because like those stone water pots, we are at church, we are in prayer, we are in the word, but many people feel like they are just stone pots that are sitting off to the side, without being of any use today. You see those stone water pots were used for ceremonial cleansing, but today, they were just six empty stone pots. They looked as if they were of no use at this wedding. But Jesus…
Jesus saw those six stone water pots and said to the servants, in verse 7, “fill the water pots with water”. Jesus then goes on to say, verse 8, “draw some out and take it to the manager of the feast”.  Jesus is filling stone water pots, that have been sitting off to the side waiting for God to need them again. Like these stone water pots, you may feel like your time of being used is over, that God no longer needs you, but the Lord is filling those pots again, to the brim with water (His word) and then He is going to bring you to the leader. Once the leader tastes what is inside of you, he is going to say, verse 10, “Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now!” Everyone else does it one way, but Jesus…

The good wine is coming out of people who have been in moves of God in the past and feel like their time is over, that the younger people are the ones who will be the new stars. Jesus saved us for such a time as this. The good wine is being released out of our lives. People are not going to know where it came from, they are not going to see the desert we walked through, the pain we have endured, the challenges we have faced, the voices we have heard. They will not know where it came from, but they will know that Jesus saved the good wine until now. God is filling the stone pots with water and he is about to call for a drink of it to be brought to the leader and God will get all the glory.
