When we go to the doctor for a yearly checkup, many times they will take an x-ray. What the x-ray shows is things that the doctor cannot see by just looking at the person. The point of an x-ray is to see realities that are invisible to the naked eye. When the Lord was looking for a new king of Israel, He said to the prophet Samuel in 1 Samuel 16:7, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I think it is safe to say, Yahweh has x-ray vision, for He see’s things that man cannot see.
While in prayer this morning, the Lord showed me the x-ray results of my internal life. I was pleasantly surprised by what He revealed to me, so I asked Him, why my external life (finances, family, ministry, etc.) does not reflect well what is going on inside of me internally? (His answer is what prompted this blog). He said, “I have been doing an internal work in my leaders, so that no matter what is happening around them externally, they will not be moved internally.”
A portion of the body of Christ has been under internal construction. This was an invitation they said yes to! The battles have been fierce, the questions have been many, the external situations have been limited in their success, but the internal work has been significant. For those who have been under internal construction, the Lord is going to do a spiritual x-ray on you, so you can see the strength, the beauty and the authority He has built in you. To those, who have been building their external life financially, physically, promotionally, the Lord is going to reveal to you, what you look on the inside as well. Not to shame you, but to invite you into some internal construction.
The Lord is going to do a spiritual x-ray on His people, for some are internally sick, anemic and malnourished. Not because they don’t go to church, but because they have not valued the word of God, prayer and obedience. Reading the Bible, prayer and obedience are the three main ingredients needed to become inside strong. If you add, fasting, worship, praise (both alone and corporately) and communion, you will grow exponentially. We cannot grow inside strong, if we do not get the Word of God inside of us, prayer and praise coming out of us, and obedience operating through us.
The x-ray is just to reveal the truth about what is going on inside of us, because what people see on the outside is very rarely what is going on in the inside. Look at people who are rich or famous, but are a mess on the inside; look at physically healthy-looking people, who are financially bankrupt or emotionally unstable. You don’t have to look far to see that people are not inside strong, are not at peace internally, and are not living fearlessly. If we as the church are going to help the harvest, we must be inside strong. This is why God is doing a spiritual x-ray, because He wants us to be inside strong.
Now listen to Matthew 7:21-27 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and, in your name, perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
The x-ray results will show you what God sees, but remember, it is not to shame you, for He loves you, it is to help you know the truth that will set you free to become inside strong.
